Server Rules

Welcome to the server! We play a survival style that allows for conflict and chaos, but only when both sides agree to it. To keep things fair and fun, please read and follow these rules.

How the Server Works

Here is what you need to know about our custom game mechanics:

  • World Spawn & Protection: World spawn is protected within a sphere of about 70 blocks. Inside it you are safe from player and mob damage. You cannot build or break blocks in this area. There is no land-claim system: your base is not mechanically protected. See the Beef Protocol for protecting yourself and your property.
  • Starter Kit: Your first join includes a one-time starter kit: a stone pickaxe, a stone axe, a full set of leather armour, 32 apples, and a sleeping bag you can place outside to sleep without a bed.
  • Day & Night Cycle: The Overworld day is twice as long as normal: about 40 minutes for a full day and night. Everything else runs at normal speed, and the Nether and End are unchanged.
  • Homes:
    • Use /sethome to save your home, /home to teleport there, and /delhome to remove it.
    • You get one home.
    • If your home is blocked, or covered by hazards such as lava, fire, cactus, magma, campfires or powder snow, /home refuses to teleport and costs no XP.
  • Teleport Costs & Rules:
    • Teleporting costs XP points: 1 XP point for every 200 blocks of distance, rounded up, with a minimum of 1 XP point (these are raw XP points, not XP levels). Distance counts whichever is longer between horizontal distance and height difference, so travelling from bedrock up to the surface counts as far.
    • The player who actually travels pays. If a teleport is cancelled, refused, or fails because the destination is unsafe, it costs nothing.
    • Teleports require standing still for 20 seconds. Moving more than about half a block, taking damage, dying, logging out, or changing dimensions cancels the teleport. Landing a hit also cancels a teleport in progress.
    • After any successful teleport, you must wait 75 seconds before teleporting again.
    • Being in combat blocks teleporting for 75 seconds for both the attacker and the player being hit. This applies to /home, /spawn, and /tpa.
  • Spawn & TPA Commands:
    • /spawn teleports you to world spawn with the same 20-second warmup, 75-second cooldown and XP distance cost.
    • /tpa <player> asks to teleport to them. /tpahere <player> asks them to come to you. Requests expire after 60 seconds, and you can only have one request or teleport in progress at a time.
    • Click the buttons in chat, or use /tpaccept to accept, /tpdeny (or /tpadeny) to refuse, and /tpacancel to cancel your own request.
    • When a request is accepted, the travelling player gets a 5-second "stop moving" warning followed by the normal 20-second standing warmup. The destination follows the host player if they walk around, and is checked for safety before you land.

1. The "Beef" Protocol (Raiding, Griefing & Territory)

Unsolicited griefing, stealing, or blowing up someone’s base while they are offline or unaware is strictly prohibited. If you want to start a war or raid a base, follow the protocol:

  • Declare Your Intentions: You must announce your intent to raid or start "beef" in the global chat.
  • Both Parties Must Be Online: You cannot initiate a raid if the target player/faction is offline.
  • Mutual Consent: The defending player must acknowledge the declaration before any TNT is lit or blocks are broken. Once both sides consent, the chaos begins.
  • Defending Your Turf: We don't use land-claim plugins, but your base is your property. If an uninvited player shows up, it is not Kill On Sight (KOS) unless a "beef" is already active. You must warn them to leave first. If they ignore your warning and refuse to back off, you have the right to defend your land with lethal force.
  • Look, Don't Touch: If you stumble across someone's base while exploring and they aren't home or are offline, feel free to admire the build. However, keep your hands to yourself. No breaking blocks, no snooping in chests, and no "borrowing" crops.

πŸ—ΊοΈ Base Building & Borders

Define your territory: While not strictly required, we highly recommend marking your base's borders with fences, walls, or clear pathways. Don't cry wolf about a trespasser if you haven't clearly defined where your property actually begins!

Location matters: You cannot build inside spawn protection, so walk out past the spawn radius into the wild and pick your own spot. If you want true privacy and fewer uninvited guests, build your base further out into the world.

2. PvP Guidelines

  • Open World PvP: Spontaneous PvP is generally frowned upon unless both players agree to a duel or are currently engaged in an active "beef."
  • Spawn Killing: Repeatedly killing new players or camping the spawn border is not allowed. Give people a chance to actually play the game.

3. Fair Play (No Cheating)

Play the game as it was intended. Any unfair advantages will result in an immediate ban.

  • No X-Ray: This includes X-ray texture packs, mods, or exploits.
  • No Hacked Clients: Movement hacks, combat hacks (killaura), or any additional client mods beyond what the server provides that give an unfair player advantage are strictly prohibited.
  • No Duping: Unless you have a specific farm mechanic that has been cleared by staff beforehand, item duplication is prohibited.

4. Respect the Landscape (No Eyesore Builds)

While you don't need to be a professional builder, do not actively try to ruin the map's aesthetic.

  • No Cobble Monsters: Deliberately casting massive lava and water structures to create giant, ugly cobblestone walls or towers is prohibited.
  • Clean Up Your Mess: Avoid leaving massive dirt pillars (nerd poles), floating tree tops, or random scaffolding blocks scattered around the world. Keep the server looking decent!

5. Server Health

  • No Lag Machines: Intentionally building contraptions designed to crash the server, drop the TPS, or chunk-ban players will result in a permanent ban.
  • Mind Your Mobs: Keep mob farms and entity counts reasonable to prevent server-wide lag.

6. Chat Etiquette

While we allow in-game rivalries and friendly trash talk during a raid, keep it strictly related to Minecraft.

  • No Hate Speech: Racism, sexism, homophobia, or slurs of any kind will not be tolerated.
  • No Doxing or Real-World Threats: Keep the conflict inside the blocky world.

Griefing & Moderation

We rely on the honor system for our "consensual chaos," but breaking the rules β€” especially offline griefing, X-raying, stealing, or intentionally lagging the server β€” will result in bans.

Administrators have the tools to observe, identify and take action. This is a private server, so questions about a moderation decision go through the community you joined from.
